Every year, around 200,000 people in the UK sustain
a brain injury.
Most will recover sufficiently to return to homes, families
and jobs and pick up the pieces of their normal life. |
But, for a significant minority, the injury is
so severe that they will never be free of major deficits - physical,
cognotive, behavioural, emotional, or any combination of these.
In these cases it is not only their lives that are affected,
so are the lives of family members, friends, and all those who
care about them. |

There are over 100 Headway groups and branches, covering much
of the UK. The range of services depends on local need and available
resources.
The majority of groups have one or more Headway House's, which
clients attend on a daily or weekly basis, and a few of the
largest offer supported living. |
