Every year, around 200,000 people in the UK sustain a brain injury.

Most will recover sufficiently to return to homes, families and jobs and pick up the pieces of their normal life.
But, for a significant minority, the injury is so severe that they will never be free of major deficits - physical, cognotive, behavioural, emotional, or any combination of these.

In these cases it is not only their lives that are affected, so are the lives of family members, friends, and all those who care about them.

There are over 100 Headway groups and branches, covering much of the UK. The range of services depends on local need and available resources.

The majority of groups have one or more Headway House's, which clients attend on a daily or weekly basis, and a few of the largest offer supported living.
Aims and Objectives
Our aims are to provide rehabilitation for people with a head injury caused by an accident or a stroke, and to offer their families, friends or carers respite, support and advice.

Headway aims to help brain injury survivors come to terms with their new circumstances, re-integrate into family and community life, and maximise thier opportunities and choices
Headway Ipswich
Our main based in the grounds of Ipswich Hospital, Ipswich Headway provides a valuable resource to its clients, who not only come from Ipswich itself but also the surrounding area.

We aim to meet our clients individual needs, and support people, whether they need general support, assistance to gain a qualification, or even a degree.
